-Practice performing the song until you are 100% satisfied with your live performance

-Record your lyrics/music (multiple takes each) in a recording studio, you may also consult with a producer at this point to add creativity to your song

-Fill out split a split sheet with everyone who put creativity into the song

-Have your song mixed by a professional mixing engineer, make sure to ask for revisions if there is something you want to change.

-Have your song mastered by a professional mastering engineer

-Submit your finished song for copyright copyright.gov

-Have cover art made if it is a single release

-Work with a publishing admin (Songtrust is well known) to work on registering your song on all the various places to make sure you song collects royalties (see how to publish FAQ)

-Pay for a distribution platform to distribute all of your songs to all of the online stores and pick a release date. Some platforms also collect royalties and have publishing administration.

-Have a release party and make it a big deal!

  • Studio 117 hosts our beat library on Beatstars, the #1 instrumental marketplace in the world. Visit www.studio117york.com/beats for a brief selection of some of our tracks, www.beatstars.com/akbeatzdotcom for our full library, or shoot us a message for custom instrumental inquiries. Generally, custom instrumentals can be created from scratch in a two hour time period, provided we have a reference. Custom beat making is done off-hours, but we will work with you to ensure we deliver to your expectations. Pricing for a custom instrumental will follow the $75 per hour (creative time) pricing structure, plus the license fee. After the instrumental is complete and payment is made in full, you will receive a link to download the beat and license from our Beatstars page.

  • After your session, you will be asked what your preferred payment method is. We accept cash and card. Studio 117 uses Square Point of Sale for our transactions, which can scan your credit card and type in either a phone number or email to receive a receipt.

  • We can quote your who project and break the invoices down song per song to make it affordable for any artist. You can pay the invoice as you go instead of all at one time if you are on a strict budget.
